Design of Communication Protocol Conversion Module for Ship Equipment Based on FPGA

Different types of communication protocols and their corresponding communication interfaces are usually used by different marine data acquisition devices based on their working characteristics. Devices that use different communication protocols cannot directly interact with each other, resulting in ineffective communication between devices. To avoid the problems of low communication efficiency and poor real-time protocol conversion caused by different communication protocols in marine equipment, a multifunctional protocol conversion device based on FPGA is proposed, which can convert CAN, RS422, and 1553B protocol data to each other in real time. The device includes an information processing control module, a communication protocol conversion module, and a communication interface module required for the project. Introduced the hardware circuit design and overall software framework and workflow of the solution implementation. Through the use of this conversion module, it can be seen that the designed module can quickly, stably, and accurately achieve communication between various devices with different communication protocols.
