Criticality Analysis of Components of EV Motor Drive System

Because of their zero-carbon emission feature, electric vehicles (EVs) have become increasingly appealing in recent years. However, one of the challenging areas in the EVs is the analysis of the reliability and safety of these vehicles. Since the inception of EVs, though there have been great advancements in EVs, there are still many issues to be addressed. The reliability and safety of these EVs are of great interest and these aspects have rarely been studied in the existing literature for EVs. Another issue of importance of ranking of components in a system from reliability, Maintainability, safety and availability point of view. In this paper component importance Measure (CIM) and criticality importance measure (CRIM) of Electric vehicle motor drive systems (EVMDS) have been carried out for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. Reliability modeling, Evaluation, CIM, and CRIM of EVMDS have been obtained. Prioritizing the components of the EVMDS has been obtained using above-mentioned Importance Measures.
