Compliance of Non-GSO Satellite with Radio Regulations Regarding to Interference with GSO Earth Stations. Case Study: Starlink and Telkom 3S

This research aims an analyze of the interference analysis of the implementation of Telkom-3S and Starlink in Indonesia at downlink Ku-band Frequency based on the epfd calculation. This research conducts an analysis of the effect of avoidance angle on the interference caused by non-GSO satellites, it explores a concept concerning a victim GSO earth station. We use TLE to determine the number of Starlink that visible on the antenna ES of Telkom 3S. Based on the results of the calculations using an avoidance angle 0°- 80°, the higher of avoidance angle, the lower level of epfd and we also recognize that the epfd analyzed exceeds the interference limit suggested by ITU-R article 22 and based on the analysis of the epfd calculation using several avoidance angles, we recommend for Starlink to transmit the power level when the avoidance angle at 10° of ES Telkom 3S.
