Blockchain-based Aadhaar Identification and authentication system

This paper proposes a novel approach to enhance the security and integrity of India’s Aadhaar system by integrating blockchain and IPFS technology. This project aims to address problems in current system. Our solution involves storing sensitive Aadhaar data off-chain on IPFS, with only content identifiers along with hashed Aadhar ID stored on the blockchain. Smart contracts on Ethereum implement Role-Based Access Control for robust access management along with an audit trail for transparency of Aadhaar data usage. This integration ensures tamper-resistance and enhances privacy while facilitating efficient verification with an audit mechanism.
