Measures to Shorten the Operation Time of Replacing the First Insulator

The insulator string of the transmission line is connected by multiple single-chip insulators. A defect in an insulator must be replaced in time to avoid the single-phase grounding fault caused by insufficient creepage distance. The insulator near the wire side is usually called the first insulator. At present, it takes a long time for the State Grid Corporation to replace the first insulator. In this paper, through investigation and research, it is determined that the slight rotation angle of the bowl head and the small rotation angle of the rocker are the main reasons for the long time of dismantling and assembling the insulator, which in turn causes the time of replacing the first insulator. The double fulcrum clamp and extension plate were made for the main reasons and applied to the site, which successfully shortened the operation time of replacing the first insulator. The research results of this paper effectively shorten the operation time of replacing the first insulator, avoid the overtime fatigue operation of operators, ensure personal safety, improve work efficiency, and have good application value.
