Multi-Sensor Fusion Based Smart Vehicle Using Single Board Computer

The combination of safe driving with artificial intelligence has emerged as the new approach for the development of transportation as intelligent driving vehicles have entered people’s daily lives. A network based, multi sensor fusion smart vehicle system with traffic signs is proposed in this research as a result, our concept would employ a modelled automobile with a Raspberry Pi to process the acquired photos from the camera and send them to a distant computer, which would process them and send them back. Similarly, several sensors are placed around the automobile to identify potential hazards. The camera and sensors will capture the surroundings in order to identify various objects around; if the obstacles become too close or are about to crash with the vehicle. The raspberry pi minicomputer is utilized to make decisions, and based on those decisions, power is supplied to the motor through motor drives, which then drive the DC motors. A LiDAR sensor detects the lane, and infrared sensor and ultrasonic sensor detects the obstacles nearby the vehicle. The automobile is capable of arriving at the specified location safely, hence avoiding the danger of human mistake. Many current techniques, such as lane detection and obstacle identification, are coupled to give the automobile with the necessary control. This system contains Raspberry Pi as the core system, which having functionalities like, Traffic light detection, Vehicle detection, pedestrian detection, road sign detection to make the vehicle as intelligent.
