Dynamic V2V Network: Advancing V2V Safety with Distance, Speed, Emergency Priority, SOS, and Accident Preemption

Road accidents on Indian National Highways (NH) pose a significant threat to public safety, with statistics indicating a high incidence rate and substantial loss of lives and property. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, current research endeavours to devise innovative solutions to mitigate these risks. This paper presents a V2V communication system tailored for Indian NHs, leveraging advanced database management and sensory data analysis techniques. By harnessing the power of LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) models, the system calculates crucial safety metrics such as stoppage time and distance, while also detecting road quality issues like potholes. Moreover, it integrates vehicle-specific parameters such as mass and tyre traction to evaluate the safety of vehicles ahead, providing real-time guidance on safe speeds. In the unfortunate event of an accident, the system activates an SOS feature, swiftly alerting nearby hospitals, police stations, and designated emergency contacts. Additionally, it proactively notifies approaching vehicles about ongoing accidents, helping prevent further collisions and potential casualties. From an administrative perspective, the system offers comprehensive post-analytics tools to identify accident-prone zones and analyze contributing factors. By leveraging data-driven insights, policymakers can make informed decisions and implement targeted interventions to effectively reduce accidents and enhance overall road safety on Indian NHs.
