PMU-Based Online Inertia Constant Identification of the Voltage Source with Inertia Support to the Grid

In this paper, an equivalent inertia constant tracking method is proposed, which is based on the data regression method and by combining it with the existing real-time inertia estimation methods, a systematic online monitoring method for the inertia support effect of the voltage source to the grid is constructed. A modified IEEE 39 bus system with both rotational and virtual inertia is shown the feasibility of the proposed method in the modern power grid.
