A Miniature Resonant Magnetic Field Probe Integrated with MLCC

In this work, a miniature resonant probe for detecting normal magnetic field, integrated with multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC), is introduced. The probe features an LC resonance structure, where metal loops serve as inductor (L) and MLCC functions as capacitor (C, resulting in enhanced sensitivity at the resonant frequency of 2.4 GHz. The probe is first modelled and simulated cooperated with S parameters of balun and MLCC, followed by fabrication and measurement utilizing a near-field scanning system. The consistency between the simulated and measured sensitivity validates the excellent performance of the probe. This innovative probe exhibits promising potential applications for capturing faint radiation emitted by WIFI antennas and accurately locating the sources of radiation.
