Design and Development of Low Cost Data Logger for Process Parameters

This proposed study presents a comprehensive solution for real-time monitoring and control of critical parameters using a combination of sensor technologies, IoT integration, and intelligent alarm systems. The foundation of the system lies in a step-down transformer that efficiently converts standard 230 V AC power to a safer 12 V AC supply. Subsequently, a power supply board is employed to further transform this 12 V AC to a stable DC output, ensuring consistent power distribution across the entire circuit is central to the functionality of the system for temperature sensing and flow sensors for monitoring fluid dynamics. These sensors feed real-time data into an Arduino microcontroller, which acts as the central processing unit for the system. Leveraging the capabilities of IoT technology, the Arduino communicates seamlessly with an IoT module to transmit data to the cloud-based platform ThingSpeak. Here, the data is visualized in the form of graphs, providing users with a clear and intuitive interface for monitoring. One of the key features of this system is its proactive alert mechanism. By setting predefined thresholds for temperature and flow rate, users can establish upper limits beyond which an alarm is triggered.
