Research on Intelligent Live Detection System for Porcelain Post Insulators Based on Vibration Principles

Porcelain post insulators are essential components of power plants and substations, extensively used in power systems to support conductors, circuit breakers, and high-voltage switches. However, existing detection methods for porcelain insulators require power outages, which are inefficient and cannot provide full coverage. There is still a gap in research on more efficient live detection technologies for porcelain insulators. This paper focuses on the design of a defect detection system for live detection technology. By extracting the spectral features of vibration signals using Fourier transform and establishing a defect feature library through finite element analysis, rapid identification of internal defects is achieved. A signal acquisition and processing system based on piezoelectric accelerometers was designed. Finally, the correctness and effectiveness of the design were verified through field tests.
