Eco-Friendly EV Charging: Utilizing Grid-Linked Solar Photovoltaic Systems

The integration of renewable energy sources into the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure presents an encouraging route to lessen reliance on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. This study introduces a novel design and implementation of a Grid Integrated Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Powered Electric Vehicle Charging Station, which leverages the abundance and sustainability of solar energy to power EV charging stations. The proposed system architecture combines a high-capacity solar PV array with grid integration capabilities, ensuring a consistent and reliable power supply for EV charging, irrespective of solar irradiance variability. We explore the technical feasibility, economic viability, and environmental benefits of the system through a comprehensive analysis that includes system design considerations, energy yield predictions, grid interaction strategies, and battery storage solutions to enhance system resilience. Comparing the system to traditional grid-powered EV charging stations, an experiment shows how much carbon emissions it can cut., highlighting its contribution to the decarbonization of the transportation sector. Additionally, the economic analysis reveals that the integration of solar PV with smart grid technologies can offer competitive pricing for EV charging services, encouraging wider EV adoption. The study underscores the importance of leveraging renewable energy technologies in developing sustainable EV charging infrastructures, offering valuable insights for policymakers, investors, and stakeholders in the renewable energy and transportation sectors.
