Comprehensive Review of Adaptive Control in Solar PV Integrated EV Charging Station

Towards sustainable transportation, development of efficient charging infrastructure for electric vehicle (EV) is evolving day by day. Efficient operation of these charging stations mainly relies on appropriate control of the integrated power converter to address the power quality concerns arising from different non-linear loads. Several conventional and adaptive control approach have been in use for controlling solar photovoltaic (SPV) integrated EV charging station. To provide a general framework of these control aspects, this paper includes a thorough review of several control strategies in ensuring optimal performance grid-integrated EVs. The paper tracks the transition from conventional control techniques to adaptive control methodologies, highlighting their impact on EV charging infrastructure. The review categorizes and evaluates diverse control strategies, ranging from traditional approaches to innovative methods for harmonic extraction and grid integration optimization. The insights from this review contribute to an enhanced understanding of cutting-edge control strategies that can help guide future research efforts aimed at strengthening the reliability of SPV integrated EV charging infrastructure.
