Optimizing Building Integrated Photovoltaic: Energy Conservation Simulation by Using BEOPT Tool

Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) transforms sustainable energy generation by seamlessly incorporating solar technology into building structures. This detailed research gives an overview of BIPV, including its many forms, benefits, problems, and applications. The study, which emphasizes the fundamental link between architecture and renewable energy, focuses on the critical job of balancing BIPV system energy output with building energy use. To accomplish this, the research suggests employing existing renewable energy resources within the facility to guarantee that total annual energy consumption equals renewable energy output, resulting in a Net Zero-Energy building status. Using BEopt (Building Energy Optimization Tool) software makes this task easier, allowing students to examine residential building designs and propose cost-effective efficiency solutions. BEopt's versatility allows for the assessment of a wide range of building types, including single-family dwellings and multi-family structures, for both new construction and retrofit projects. BIPV emerges as a critical component in designing energy-efficient and aesthetically beautiful building solutions to meet the growing need for sustainable energy sources. Furthermore, in India, an energy conservation building code establishes minimum performance criteria for building envelopes, emphasizing the need of BIPV in achieving energy efficiency targets.
