Research and Optimization of an Electromagnetic Disc Friction Clutch

Reviewing and performing a series of optimization engineering calculations of an electromagnetic disc friction clutch (electromagnetic, thermal, mechanical) to obtain the required operating mode. Verification electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical calculations of the basic version of the coupling were carried out. For a series of electromagnetic calculations, the finite element method was used to determine the optimal thickness and grade of the magnetic system, winding parameters; thermal and mechanical calculations of the optimal coupling design, calculations were performed in ANSYS software in 2D and 3D. During the optimization calculations of the electromagnetic friction clutch, the necessary geometry of the magnetic system and winding was selected, providing the required electromagnetic force and torque.
