V2G and G2V Modes of Grid-Connected Solar EV Battery Charger with Harmonic Compensation

In this work, the performance of a three-phase isolated level-2 electric vehicle charger (TIL2EVC) is designed and analysed for household/public charging applications. It features EV battery charging, power delivered to local load and grid, and harmonic, reactive power compensation. A second-order generalized integrator (SOGI) is utilized to extract the fundamental load current component, and a unit template is implemented to synchronize the grid current. A dual active bridge (DAB) converter is utilized to make an isolated interface for the EV battery and an extended phase shift (EPS) modulation is implemented to minimize the back power flow with enhanced efficiency. This paper thoroughly discusses the details of TIL2EVC's operating modes and its capability to mitigate current harmonics.
