An Aggregate of Novel Non-Isolated Four-Switch DCDC Converters With a Wide Voltage Conversion Ratio

In this paper, a novel family of non-isolated DCDC converters possessing four switches is explored. The proposed converters are derived using the three fundamental non-isolated converters - Buck, Boost, and Buck-Boost converters. Wide variation in voltage conversion ratio is obtained to provide flexibility in catering to the High Voltage and Low Voltage critical loads. Detailed discussion on operational principles and steady-state analyses is carried out and presented in this paper. The input capacitor to the converters is not used for the analysis to investigate the possibility of inherent continuous input current for each of the converters from the input battery pack, which can enhance battery life and also encourage integration with renewable energy resources. Simulink platform are presented in this paper. Closed loop current control methodology has also been discussed in detail. In summary, a novel aggregate of non-isolated four-switch DCDC converters is explored that can provide manifold versatility and redundancy for an extensive gamut of applications.
