CNISOGI and LLMF Based Controller Design for Grid-Interactive EV Chargers in Wide Voltage Range Scenarios

Grid voltage and current distortions, voltage swells and sags, and other power quality issues are common to grid-interactive electric vehicle (GIEV) chargers. To solve these problems, grid converter control algorithms must be effective. The Cascaded Non-Identical Second-Order Generalized Integrator (CNISOGI) and the Leaky Least Mean Fourth (LLMF) algorithms are introduced in this study. Even in the presence of distorted voltage, the CNISOGI algorithm enhances grid current by precisely estimating synchronization voltage templates. As this is going on, load compensation is provided by the LLMF algorithm, which estimates the active fundamental component with less weight oscillation. The study also provides a differential equation-based mathematical model of a single-phase, two-stage On-Board Bi-Directional Charger (OBBC). The suggested method effectively regulates active and reactive power and compensates for load harmonics based on a predetermined reference, allowing the GIEV to continue operating normally. These methods' performance is verified using MATLAB/Simulink simulations.
