Experiment and Evaluate the MIG/MAG Butt Weld for ASTM A516 Gr 65 Steel

Welded structures made of ASTM A516 Gr 65 steel using MIG/MAG welding technology have many industrial applications. The paper presents the experimental procedure and evaluation of the MIG/MAG butt weld for this steel. After welding, the weld is subjected to Nondestructive Testing (NDT), such as Visual Test (VT), Ultrasonic Test (UT); and Destructive Testing (DT), including macrostructure, microstructure, tensile strength, bending strength, and Charpy impact. The results show that the weld has no defects, ensuring specific working conditions.
