Harnessing Solar Energy for a Sustainable Future By Using MyRIO and LabVIEW

Agriculture is the primary source of supporting livelihoods with food, habitat, and jobs. Farmers are facing some issues due to unpredictable weather conditions as they are not utilizing the resources efficiently due to a lack of knowledge about new techniques, creating immense pressure on them. To make plants grow well it is important to have the right amount of water in the soil. Water is a crucial element for sustainment it is mandatory to avoid excessive usage. Controlling the water supply is necessary for irrigation. So a new system that uses solar energy, and smart technology for irrigation is introduced. The main part of the system is a single board controlled named MyRIO with built-in wi-fi and a solar cell connection for power. Sensors are placed in the field to observe soil moisture, humidity, temperature, and the water level below the ground. Using this sensor information, the controller decides the water supply required for each field part. It sends signals to control irrigation pumps, which accurately deliver the required amount of water. This helps avoid wasting water and ensures that irrigation is done efficiently. The system also checks the subsurface water level to prevent damage to the motor pumps.
