Revolutionizing Energy Efficiency with Sun-Lilly: An Affordable Dual-Axis Floating Solar Tracker

In response to the urgent environmental concerns associated with fossil fuel dependence, this study presents an innovative solution by introducing “Sun-Lilly,” a dual-axis floating solar tracker system. As an eco-friendly alternative, Sun-Lilly outperforms non-tracked solar panels, exhibiting a significant advantage in energy output, especially during peak solar intensity. The incorporation of water in the floating system not only enhances efficiency but also introduces a cooling mechanism. A meticulous cost analysis underscores the economic feasibility of Sun-Lilly, revealing a total component cost of 3,190 BDT. Charging data further validates its practicality, consistently displaying higher voltages for the tracked panel. Projected mathematical models unveil substantial environmental and economic benefits, with a $10,000-\mathrm{kW}$ system potentially generating $\mathbf{1 7, 2 6 5} \mathrm{MWh} /$ year, reducing 11.57 tons of CO
2
emissions, and yielding an annual financial benefit of $\mathbf{1 5 2, 2 0 8} \mathbf{k B D T}$. The outlined development methodology ensures a comprehensive and systematic progression from conceptualization to testing, positioning Sun-Lilly as a promising and sustainable solution to address energy and environmental challenges in Bangladesh.
