A Comprehensive Investigation of PV Power Plants Waste Measurement and Profit Analysis: Prospects in Bangladesh

To meet the growing energy requirement in Bangladesh, the nation is taking steps towards developing large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in both public and private sectors. While emphasis is given to solar energy growth, management of waste due to this sector, particularly the disposal of solar modules, must not be disregarded. This study thus emphasizes the need for an all-encompassing waste management strategy as well as pathways to recycle the main components and materials of solar panels. An analysis is performed on the potential for profit and a waste management system for six solar power facilities in Bangladesh. This study focuses on recycled materials and analyzes the potential profits that can be made when plants reach the end of their useful lives. The findings indicate that of the six PV power plants that are being considered, 252.44 tons of recoverable copper, 2596.73 tons of aluminum, 1373.33 tons of silicon, 2142.3 tons of plastic, and 23919.03 tons of glass would be produced. The outcome demonstrates the profit analysis amount is 21.4571 crore Bangladeshi Taka (BDT), while the amounts for aluminum, silicon, plastic, and glass are 64.92, 137.333, and 35.02 crore (BDT), respectively.
