Smart Motor Analytics: Real-Time Internal and External Parameters Identification Through IoT

In recent years, the industrial revolution and rotary machinery have been widely used in a variety of fields all over the world. Among them, induction motors are crucial because of their affordability, easy maintenance, and flexible operating conditions. Various faults are observed in electrical machines due to the deterioration of parts like stators, rotors, insulation, and bearings. Failures in the motors would cause heat, vibrations, a rise in energy consumption, and reduced life. Consequently, it becomes crucial to identify faults and monitor the status of induction motors. The Internet of Things (IoT) is an advanced approach to meet Industry 5.0 needs which aims to enhance the industrial environment. The use of IoT in applied electrical systems and machinery has increased. This research suggests a novel IoT architecture that will enable safe and dependable online induction motor status monitoring, through the Blynk platform interface. Industrial processes have entirely relied on the IoT to prevent failures in machines. Various parameters of an induction motor are monitored by using sensors connected to the motor with a Wi-fi module. The Wi-Fi module in the system allows it to send sensor data to the cloud for recording and analysis. This system allows real-time monitoring of parameters from anywhere in the world using a mobile phone or computer. This approach optimizes energy consumption with regular turn-on and turn-off 24/7. Using IoT applications can improve productivity, efficiency, and reduce breakdown time. The proposed work reduces the manpower in emergency operations, ensuring motor control and equipment safety.
