Li-Fi Technology for Visible Light Communication in Text and Audio Transmission

This paper explores a real-time audio broadcast prototype using off-the-shelf LEDs, envisioning extended transmission distances with commercial LED lamps. Demonstrating high-quality audio transmission over 1m, improvements are suggested through the addition of a focusing lens and fast-switching multiple LEDs. Encoding and decoding minimize errors, and tests indicate the potential for larger coverage with LED arrays. Visible Light Communication, particularly Li-Fi, is promising for various applications, addressing the escalating demand for faster, more secure data transmission. Li-Fi, seen as a complement to RF communication, holds potential for every LED bulb to become a Li-Fi hotspot, transforming data transmission into a safer, faster, and greener network. The paper also discusses bidirectional transmission of text and images using Li-Fi, outlining its modulation, architecture, performance, and challenges. Despite Li-Fi's current limitations in outdoor conditions, its coexistence with Wi-Fi is foreseen, offering a more efficient and secure wireless network.
