Climbing and Pruning Treebot

The “Climbing and Pruning Tree Bot”, a revolutionary robotic solution described in this study, was created with the main goal of efficiently climbing Casuarina trees. Traditional tree maintenance procedures are difficult and frequently dangerous for casuarina trees because of their tall, narrow trunks and high branches. This Tree Bot uses the Raspberry Pi Pico W microcontroller's capability for precise control and autonomy to solve this problem. Its climbing gear includes a gripper and a motorized crawler system that allow it to safely ascend and descend Casuarina trees while maintaining stability. The Tree Bot's movements and activities are coordinated by the Raspberry Pi Pico W, which acts as the system's main control panel. The Pico W is a great option for prolonged outdoor use because of its small size and energy economy. L298N driver is used for controlling the speed and the direction of the bot, The worm gear motor is used to produce high torque at the output. The caterpillar track is employed for the gripping mechanism, its stability enables precise and controlled movement. Wireless connectivity is also incorporated, allowing us to monitor and control the system remotely. PVC pipe is used for the outer frame design for the robot due its smaller size and lesser weight, it is designed for the tree diameter of approximately 6 to 10 cm. The creation of the Climbing Tree Bot is described in this study as a ground-breaking method for caring for Casuarina trees in a safe, effective, and environmentally friendly manner. In order to access challenging tree structures, the project will use an autonomous robot rather than human climbers. This will increase worker safety and reduce the man power.
