Comparison of Restricted Earth Fault Current Devices for Various Earthing Systems Using ETAP Software

This paper delivers an acquaintance of the Study of Restricted Earth Fault Current Devices for various Earthing Systems using Short Circuit Analysis based on IEC 60909 utilizing ETAP software. In power systems, Short circuit analysis is mostly required to appropriately design the devices to ensure they can withstand currents from short circuits. This paper discusses the restricted earth fault current behaviour, particularly for solidly and resistance grounding at which short circuit analysis is to be performed, and validates the sizing calculation process of restricted earth fault current devices with an engineer example. This paper also compares the short circuit results obtained for restricted earth fault current devices.
