A Review of Fire Extinguishing and Smoke Exhaust Systems for Railway Safety

This research presents a novel rail safety system designed to prioritize fire prevention and passenger safety. The proposed system employs a network of sensors to detect fires early, triggering a multi-level alert system that includes a buzzer and emergency brake activation. Sodium bicarbonate and sprinklers are deployed to extinguish fires, while a gradual speed reduction minimizes fire spread. A reliable power supply ensures uninterrupted system operation, and a GSM module enables real-time communication with nearby stations. The system's automated actions and rapid response capabilities significantly reduce the risk of loss of life and property damage, enhancing overall passenger safety and security during train travel.
