Novel Rectangular Waveguide Band-Stop Filters with PMC MSSs in the Broad Wall

A novel waveguide band-stop filter is developed and presented. This design incorporates the integration of one or two metasurface sections onto the broad wall, effectively yielding a robust stopband characteristic within a broad passband. The underlying mechanism responsible for generating the stopband is elucidated. Simulation results demonstrate a good stopband within the wide TE10 passband of the standard rectangular waveguide WR-75. This proposed filter exhibits advantages of a straightforward structure, simplified design process, ease of fabrication, convenient mounting, and superior bandstop performance.
