Enhanced sensing telemetry using reconstruction of divergent exceptional points with cross-coupling

We herein introduce a new wireless sensing telemetry with enhanced sensitivity by leveraging the reconstruction of divergent exceptional point (DEP) in a cross-coupled third-order parity-time (PT)-symmetric electronic system. We confirm that with the presence of cross-coupling between the gain and loss components, which was ignored in the previous work, the phenomenon of DEP can still exist. In addition, we theoretically provide the design strategy for building such a system and explicit guidance for reconstructing the DEP. We also demonstrate that such a reconstruction procedure of the cross-coupled DEP can indeed be utilized as the sensing mechanism having unprecedented sensitivity. This work may provide a comprehensive understanding of the DEP benefits of the practical implementation of DEP sensors.
