Visualization of Code Metrics for Code Quality and Assessment of Breach of Standards

This paper presents an approach to evaluating code quality and compliance with standards through visualizing code metrics. With the increasing adoption of Agile methodologies in software development, iterative processes are more prone to periodic evaluations of code quality and adherence to standards. Using software metrics extracted from the source code, this study proposes a visualization pipeline to help make the validation and assessment process more efficient and effective. Through a literature review, we identify popular software metrics and their impact on code quality, emphasizing the importance of maintainability. Our proposed visualization pipeline includes code collection, metrics extraction, and a visual representation of class relationships with interactive features, which helps stakeholders identify potential breaches of quality standards. Future upgrades will include interactive capabilities that allow users to traverse the code and observe class-specific metrics. In conclusion, our research aims to contribute to more effective and efficient software development processes by helping to detect and mitigate code quality issues.
