Control and Monitoring Systems for Hospital Medical Gases

This study examines an Internet of Things (IoT) based gas monitoring system. In this context, a prototype model has been developed for monitoring and controlling portable medical gas cylinders used in healthcare. The system instantly monitors parameters such as pressure, filling rate and temperature. The information collected in real-time is transferred to a cloud-based system. In this way, hospital staff or anyone authorized by the system can access real-time information about the status of the cylinders. The system has been developed with a Wi-Fi-based ESP32 microcontroller and a YD4080 pressure sensor. Real-time data transfer is provided via the Arduino Cloud system. Fresh oxygen gas applied to the patient can be monitored on the instantly calculated graphic screen. The study is designed to improve the supply and usage processes of manually monitored cylinders and increase efficiency.
