A Study of Tennis Momentum Factors Based on BP Neural Networks and Multiple Regression Models

Owing to the intricate nature of the tennis program, pinpointing just one determinant to elucidate the game's outcomes effectively is challenging, necessitating a broader and more cohesive evaluation. This paper choses data from the 2023 Wimbledon men's final to measure the influence of various elements on the game's result, including the players' performance in the match, their personal standing, and the actual conditions. The relative importance of momentum, the validity of the model, and the importance of individual predictors were assessed based on a neural network. At the same time, the relevant factors affecting the winners and losers of the matches are analyzed as a reference for whether the players can win the matches and how the coaches set up their strategies during the matches.
