Advancing Water Resource Management in Romania through National-Level Decision Support Systems

Romania faces significant challenges in managing its water resources, including water scarcity, pollution, and climate change issues. In response to these challenges, implementing a national-level Decision Support System (DSS) for water resource management holds great promise. This article explores the importance of such a system in the Romanian context. It describes the components, benefits, and challenges of the implemented informatics platform based on DSS for water management decision support. By integrating data, modeling tools, stakeholder engagement, and decision support frameworks, the national-level DSS enhances decision-making processes, improves water resource management strategies, and promotes sustainable development in Romania.
