A self-consistent simulation framework for modelling graphene-based optoelectronics in the THz regime

We present a self-consistent multiphysics simulation framework for modelling graphene optoelectronic response in the $\mathbf{T H z}$ regime. Our model accounts for realistic graphene-based devices, accounting for all relevant electrical, optical and thermal properties as well as the interplay between them. We use the developed model to accurately describe and explain the nonlinear response of a graphene thin film absorber upon photoexcitation with intense THz pulses. The excellent agreement with the experimental findings highlights the potential use of our simulation framework for the design of graphene-based optoelectronic devices in the $\mathbf{T H z}$ spectrum.
