Assessing the Impact of Skills Involvement, and Development on Graduate Marketability

In an increasingly competitive job market, understanding the determinants of graduate marketability is crucial. Through a survey of 210 vocational college graduates, this study employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze how skills, involvement in development activities, and personal development contribute to graduate marketability. The results indicate a significant positive impact of skills on marketability, with skills showing the highest Composite Reliability (CR) value. In contrast, involvement in development activities presented the lowest CR value, suggesting its effect on marketability may be influenced by other factors. The study’s Graduate Marketability Model (GMM) offers a strategic framework for educational institutions to enhance their curriculum and better prepare students for the job market. The findings underscore the importance of skills as a pivotal component of graduate marketability, with implications for educational policy and program development. Future research should investigate external factors mediating the relationship between graduate attributes and marketability.
