Enhancing MIMO Throughput through Improved Isolation and Radiation Pattern Shaping

This paper presents an innovative method for designing hybrid networks employing multiport theory. The approach enhances antenna isolation and optimizes radiation patterns within multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna arrays. The hybrid network integrates a decoupling feeding network with a defected ground structure, utilizing surface-mounted reactive components optimized through an N-ary algorithm. A decoupling example validates the design process, showing improved matching, isolation below -20 dB, and a throughput increase of 58.6% (38.5%), validating the proposed methodology's effectiveness.
