Analysis of Large Array Antennas Based on Finite Element Domain Decomposition Method

A fast solving algorithm for large periodic structures has been proposed. This algorithm is based on domain decomposition method (DDM) and divides regions according to periodic structure element. Some subdomains have the same system matrix, the feature of subdomains are extracted to reduce the memory in the DDM calculation process. the computational accuracy and efficiency of the implemented solver is verified through numerical examples. A large array antenna which generates exceeded 6.86 million tetrahedrons and 48.54 million unknowns is calculated with only 27 minutes on a single workstation.
