Research on fan-out mode about PCIe6.0 connector

The crosstalk in fan-out area that involves pad, ML, SL and via is more serious under PCIe6.0 rate. In the case of limited space in the board, an optimal fan-out mode under PCIe6.0 rate is explored, so as to improve the signal quality. Six kinds of fan-out modes are designed. The simulation and mensuration’s results show that type 1, type 3 and type 5 are not recommended to be used when the margin is small. If the vias are short, type 5 can be used, which also takes up less space. Type 2 and type 4 have a better state of crosstalk, but it occupies a larger space compared to type 5. Crosstalk can be reduced by equal-length matching, adding ground vias between signal vias, and increasing the spacing between two pairs of vias.
