Herbal environmental control system based on LoRa communication

With the advancement of China's agricultural supply-side structural reform, the demand for Chinese herbal medicines will keep growing, the proportion of artificially cultivated Chinese herbal medicines in the market is increasing year by year, and artificial cultivation of Chinese herbal medicines has become a trend. However, artificial cultivation is still faced with many difficulties, such as the impact of natural disasters, the planting environment is unable to meet the environmental conditions for the growth of Chinese herbal medicines. Difficulty for growers to carry out effective drought, waterlogging and frost prevention, coupled with their sloppy management and lack of experience in responding to and dealing with sudden natural disasters. Therefore, designing an environmental control system for herbal medicine can improve the current cultivation situation. This paper designs a herbal environment control system based on the Internet of Things, which mainly provides a suitable growing environment for herbs, and can provide a relative suitable environment for different varieties of herbs and different growth stages. The system uses sensors, LoRa communication and actuators to monitor the temperature and humidity, soil moisture and light intensity data of the planting greenhouses in real time, to achieve the collection of environmental data of the planting greenhouses and the regulation of environmental data. Through information technology, growers can remotely regulate environmental parameters, effectively defend against natural disasters, and realise the automation, intelligence and digitisation of the herbal medicine planting process.
