Design and Implementation of Monitoring System for Bedridden Elderly

With the rapid development of global population aging, the physical functions of the elderly are aging, and, in particular, the incidence of disease risk in bedridden elderly is much greater than that of other elderly in the same age group. In order to address the quality of life, health status, and care needs of bedridden elderly, a system is designed specifically for monitoring bedridden elderly. The system includes functions such as monitoring of physical and environmental parameters, remote real-time and historical data query, remote threshold range control, voice control, anti-pressure sore and warning prompts. STM32 microcontroller is used as the main control chip, which is connected with sensors, communication modules and peripherals to build the lower computer platform; data interaction adopts the MQTT protocol to upload data through the network; the application obtains the data and sends control commands through the AliCloud interface. The guardian can view the signs and environmental parameters of the elderly in real time through the app, which provides a basis for medical decision-making in case of emergency, and at the same time can control the parameter threshold range. Compared with traditional care methods, the system not only improves the quality of life of the bedridden elderly, but also effectively improves the efficiency of care and reduces the burden of caregivers, with the advantages of intelligence and personalization.
