Breathalyzer-based Prompt Screening and Diagnosis of Respiratory Diseases using Metamaterial Based Terahertz Impedance Spectroscopy of Viruses

We present breathalyzer-based prompt screening technology that can detect and screen multiple respiratory diseases using exhaled breath of a patient, collected on an LC resonant metasurface, demonstrating a spectral red-shift (ΔF). We categorized ΔF for multiple respiratory diseases, which do not overlap. This was physically possible by removing the constraint of detection limit in metamaterials, along with significant sensitivity enhancement physics.
