Design and Implementation of a High-Speed Multi-Port Shared Cache Management System Based on FPGA

With the rapid development of modern network technology and significant growth in internet traffic, the demand for network bandwidth has also increased, posing higher requirements for the data processing capabilities of switching systems. This paper designs and implements a high-speed multi- port shared cache management system aimed at avoiding the impact of data frame length and data bit width on memory resources. It dynamically adjusts space through memory recycling to save storage resources, enhance data storage efficiency, and improve data verification and error correction capabilities. The design supports line-rate forwarding for multiple gigabit ports using a dynamic shared caching strategy and integrates CRC checks and QoS scheduling functions. The RTL code for the high-speed multi-port shared cache management system was developed using Verilog language, and the design was comprehensively validated through a simulation platform and an FPGA verification platform. Both simulation and FPGA verification results have proven the design's correctness and effectiveness.
