Numerical Study of the Influence of the Geometry of the Housing Element on the Strength and Vibration Stability of the Electric Motor Rotor for UAVs

This paper investigates the influence of some geometrical parameters of one of the housing elements of an electric motor for unmanned aircraft systems on the strength and vibration stability of the rotor. A comparative analysis of three rotor design variants differing in the geometry of the housing element is carried out using three-dimensional numerical simulation of the stress-strain state and modal analysis. The results obtained by means of engineering analysis make it possible to exclude inoperable variants and select a more suitable rotor design without the need for a series of labor-intensive experimental studies and prototypes. The calculations carried out at ANSYS showed identical stress levels and total displacements in all structural elements between the studied rotor variants. However, the modal analysis revealed differences in the operating speed ranges.
