Research on the Distribution Pattern of Forward Shockwaves Before Underwater Weapon Launch

In order to investigate the distribution pattern of the forward shock wave before the explosion of the energetic propellant underwater, we have constructed a simulation model for the underwater explosion of energetic propellant. Through simulation calculations, we have analyzed the distribution pattern of the peak pressure of the forward shock wave. The results indicate that the peak pressure and specific impulse of the underwater weapon’s forward shock wave are influenced by the structural design of the casing. A larger concave angle of the casing towards the loading direction corresponds to smaller peak pressure and specific impulse at the same position. The planar casing exhibits the greatest power of the shock wave, but fails to create a focused penetration effect, while the spherical casing achieves the highest overall power, satisfying the optimized matching conditions for jet and shock wave power.
