The proposed system leverages the power of the internet-of-things (loT) and sensor fusion technology to monitor the conditions and status of stored food items, empowering users to make learned decisions and minimize waste. The proposed solution integrates advanced sensors, including gas sensors, weight sensors, and RFID readers, to collect comprehensive data on food inventory levels, expiry dates, and potential spoilage risks. A microcontroller processes this data, analyzing the information and triggering alerts and notifications through a user-friendly SMS interface. Additionally, the system incorporates a ChatGPT API integration, providing personalized recipe suggestions considering the available ingredients, reducing the reliance on additional purchases, and promoting creative meal planning. The project aims to reduce household food waste considerably, lowering the impact on environment and promoting sustainable practices. The SMS-based user interface offers convenience and accessibility, enabling users to receive inventory updates, expiry alerts, spoilage warnings, and recipe suggestions directly on their mobile devices.
