Implementing an Effortless Shopping Experience: Smart Trolley and Billing System Using IoT

The retail landscape has witnessed a significant surge in technological advancements, with the shopping trolley system playing a pivotal role in enhancing the overall customer experience. Traditional shopping methods often lead to challenges such as budget concerns, long checkout lines, and inadequate product information. According to recent statistical reports, a substantial number of customers encounter difficulties related to financial planning and time inefficiencies during their shopping journeys. As the demand for efficient solutions grow, there is an increasing need to address these issues and revolutionize the shopping experience. To tackle these challenges, this research study introduces a cutting-edge system designed to transform the conventional shopping trolley into a smart, RFID-powered device. The proposed system leverages Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to enable seamless and accurate tracking of items within the cart. Unlike traditional barcode systems, RFID tags allow for non-line-of-sight scanning at varying distances, offering a more efficient and user-friendly approach. Each product is equipped with a passive RFID tag containing a unique Electronic Product Code, providing essential information such as the product name and price.
