Conjunctivitis Eye Detection using Deep Learning

Conjunctivitis, or pink eye, is an inflammation of the eye's thin, transparent membrane, causing redness, irritation, swelling, and discharge. Recent research integrates deep learning techniques in ophthalmology to aid in diagnosis. However, algorithmic bias remains a critical challenge, potentially which can adversely affect the outputs of artificial intelligence systems. Bias in training data can lead to inaccurate diagnoses in healthcare outcomes. This project employs deep learning methods to address the diagnostic challenges of conjunctivitis while considering and mitigating algorithmic bias to ensure equitable and accurate results.
