Comparative Study of Mobile Forensics Tools: Autopsy, Belkasoft X and Magnet Axiom

In this modern era, smartphones have become in-tegral to human existence, influencing almost various aspects of daily life. As smartphones and tablets have become more common, they have also become stores of critical digital data for forensic analyses. Therefore, mobile forensics is essential to the research and analysis of evidence related to criminal activity, legal issues, and cybersecurity problems. The complexity of mobile devices and the vast number of services and applications they offer raise unique difficulties for digital investigators. Successfully extracting and analyzing data from these devices requires spe-cialized tools and methodologies carefully crafted to handle the complexities of mobile operating systems and storage structures. The paper compares three popular forensic tools, i.e., Autopsy, Belkasoft X, and Magnet Axiom, to evaluate their efficiency in analyzing forensic image files. Concentrating on mobile devices operating on Android 10, iOS 13, and iOS 14 systems, the research seeks to provide valuable insights into the strengths and weaknesses of these tools.
