PI Controller Based Modified ZETA Converter with Higher Voltage Gain for Load Voltage Regulation

This project aims to design, implement, and analyze a PI controller-based modification of the ZETA converter with the objective of achieving higher voltage gain for improved load voltage regulation. The ZETA converter is chosen for its simplicity, reliability, and inherent advantages, and the integration of a PI controller is proposed to enhance its performance in regulating load voltage. The modification involves carefully adjusting the converter's parameters to achieve a higher voltage gain while maintaining the desirable features of the ZETA converter, such as reduced input ripple current. The PI controller is employed to dynamically adjust the converter's operation in response to varying load conditions, ensuring optimal performance across a range of operational scenarios. The project involves a comprehensive study of the modified ZETA converter's behavior under different load conditions through simulation and practical implementation. The PI controller's proportional, integral, and derivative actions are fine-tuned to achieve improved transient response, reduced steady-state errors, and enhanced stability in load voltage regulation. Comparative analysis with traditional ZETA converters will be conducted to highlight the advantages of the proposed modification. Simulation results and experimental validations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed converter with supply battery achieving superior load voltage regulation compared to traditional ZETA converters.
