Optical-Theorem-Based Intrusion Detection and Tracking in Multipath Environments

Optical-theorem-based coherent change detection and imaging methods are derived, and conditions for their practical applicability with limited view sensing apertures are derived and discussed with the help of numerical examples. Two broad classes of target regions are identified, namely, coherent versus incoherent regions, and the best detection methods for each class (coherent versus incoherent or energy-detector-based) are examined, both theoretically and computationally.
